Built in 1809 in the village of Rosia Noua, this wooden church is a valuable historical monument, representative of traditional religious architecture in Transylvania. Constructed from massive oak beams, with a shingled roof and a bell tower made of fir planks, the church stands out with its rectangular floor plan and the polygonal apse of the altar, built without offset.
The current bell dates back to 1934, replacing the original one lost during World War I. The interior paintings, created in 1820 by Nicolae the Painter from Lupsa Mare, preserve the charm of early 19th-century folk religious art. A series of restorations (1862, 1867, 1902, and 2010–2011) have maintained the structure and authentic details. According to local oral tradition, the church was once painted on the exterior as well.
