The Local Gastronomic Point, opened in the commune of Vata de Jos, is a heartfelt project aimed at rediscovering and celebrating authentic Romanian traditions. The cuisine of the Zarand region is rich in flavors and beautifully presented dishes, and this gastronomic point offers a wonderful way to highlight delicious, home-prepared foods. Most of the ingredients come straight from local producers, preserving freshness and tradition.

At the heart of the experience at Casa Boema is the iconic “Placinta de Vata” – a traditional pie that holds a place of honor on the tables of local households. Typically filled with apples or cheese, this pie is baked in a traditional hearth oven. Thanks to a touch of inspiration and culinary passion, Andreea Nistor – the soul of the gastronomic point – and her mother have perfected nine different types of fillings, bringing a creative twist to this beloved local treat.
