Embark on a spectacular adventure along the King’s Road. This cycling route blends the wild beauty of the Apuseni Mountains with the charm of traditional villages in the Zarand region.
The trail begins in Vata de Jos, a peaceful village with an authentic rural atmosphere, and gently climbs through cool forests, wide meadows, and ridge paths, offering unforgettable panoramic views of the entire area. As you ride, you’ll follow roads steeped in history, once traveled by the royal family on their way to their estates in the Apuseni.
The descent toward Petris brings a stunning change of scenery: the forests give way to rolling hills dotted with orchards and traditional homesteads. This route is suited for cyclists with intermediate to advanced experience due to some technical climbs and descents, but every effort is rewarded by the genuine beauty of the landscapes you traverse.
